This book serves as an instruction manual for the musculoskeletal system.
It can help persons who understand that people do not suffer randomly from pain, arthrosis, and disc disease and therefore want to work actively on themselves.
So-called injury susceptibility is, to a large extent, caused by misdirection of the musculoskeletal system and can be reduced by the specifically tailored exercises of the DKB system. Alongside the normalization of muscle function, special attention is paid to coordination. A separate chapter is devoted to self-mobilization exercises and also contains advice on improved movement technique during everyday life.
The only organ of the human body, whose control is directly subject to our own will is the musculoskeletal system. A causal-based, active intervention in the control of the organ to treat pain caused by over exertion and faulty posture can only be achieved by self-treatment. A doctor, who wishes to successfully treat patients for over exertion syndromes, must also be their trainer. The trainer is conversely the first therapist of the athlete entrusted to him. In view of this fact, the necessity arose for a collaboration between the orthopedic specialist, Dr Eduard Lanz and the Director of the Federal Institute for Physical Education Graz, Privy Counselor Prof. Dr. Helmut Aigelsreiter, as responsible party for trainer education. The DKB system was the result of this.
